【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodfordeterminingtheIzodimpactstrengthofplasticsunderdefinedconditions.Anumberofdifferenttypesofspecimenandtestconfigurationsaredefined.Differenttestparametersarespecifiedaccordingtothetypeofmaterial,thetypeoftestspecimenandthetypeofnotch.Themethodisusedtoinvestigatethebehaviourofspecifiedtypesofspecimenundertheimpactconditionsdefinedandforestimatingthebrittlenessortoughnessofspecimenswithinthelimitationsinherentinthetestconditions.Themethodissuitableforusewiththefollowingrangeofmaterials:
rigidthermoplasticmouldingandextrusionmaterials,includingfilledandreinforcedcompoundsinadditiontounfilledtypes;rigidthermoplasticssheets;
rigidthermosettingmouldingmaterials,includingfilledandreinforcedcompounds;rigidthermosettingsheets,includinglaminates;
fibre-reinforcedthermosettingandthermoplasticcompositesincorporatingunidirectionalornon-unidirectionalreinforcementssuchasmat,wovenfabrics,wovenrovings,choppedstrands,combinationandhybridreinforcements,rovingsandmilledfibresandsheetmadefrompre-impregnatedmaterials(prepregs);
thermotropicliquid-crystalpolymers.Themethodisnotnormallysuitableforusewithrigidcellularmaterialsandsandwichstructurescontainingcellularmaterial.Also,notchedspecimensarenotnormallyusedforlong-fibre-reinforcedcompositesorthermotropicliquid-crystalpolymers.Themethodissuitedtotheuseofspecimenswhichmaybeeithermouldedtothechosendimensions,machinedfromthecentralportionofastandardmultipurposetestspecimen(seeISO3167)ormachinedfromfinishedorsemifinishedproductssuchasmouldings,laminatesandextrudedorcastsheet.Themethodspecifiespreferreddimensionsforthetestspecimen.Testswhicharecarriedoutonspecimensofdifferentdimensionsorwithdifferentnotches,orspecimenswhicharepreparedunderdifferentconditions,mayproduceresultswhicharenotcomparable.Otherfactors,suchastheenergycapacityoftheapparatus,itsimpactvelocityandtheconditioningofthespecimenscanalsoinfluencetheresults.Consequently,whencomparativedataarerequired,thesefactorsmustbecarefullycontrolledandrecorded.Themethodshouldnotbeusedasasourceofdatafordesigncalculations.Informationonthetypicalbehaviourofamaterialcanbeobtained,however,bytestingatdifferenttemperatures,byvaryingthenotchradiusand/orthethicknessandbytestingspecimenspreparedunderdifferentconditions.
